How to Create Signup Forms with WPForms and ActiveCampaign
Follow the steps given below to easily create a signup form and connect it with the ActiveCampaign account.
Step 1 Install Best Form Builder Plugin to Create Newsletter Form

Step 2 Activate the ActiveCampaign Addon for Email Marketing
After you have done with installing the plugin, you have to open the menu option WPForms >> Addons
A page will open where you will get various useful addons of WPForms. You have to activate the ActiveCampaign addon. Click the ‘Install Addon’ button given under the ActiveCampaign addon.

After activating the ActiveCampaign addon, you can now start creating the newsletter form for your website. Open the menu option WPForms >> Add New to add create a form.
A page will open where you have to enter the form name to easily identify it from other forms.
The WPForms plugin provides many pre-made templates as showing in the image below. You have to select the newsletter template by clicking on the ‘Create a Newsletter Signup Form’.
You will get a page showing the newsletter form template with various form fields. It contains two input boxes for the ‘Name’ to enter from the user. You can make it simple by making it a single input box.
Click the input box as indicated below to get the field options for ‘Name’. Select the ‘Simple’ option given in the ‘Format’ dropdown.
The ‘Name’ field now showing the single input box to the users. Leave the ‘Email’ input box and the button as it is and move further to configure the form.
Step 4 Configure Signup Form Settings
After you have done with creating the newsletter form, you can configure settings to display the required output on form submission.
To start configuring the settings, click the ‘Settings’ option. There are three setting options you have to configure which are General, Notifications, and Confirmations.
General Form Settings
To make the general settings for your form, you have to go to Settings >> General to get the general setting options as showing in the image below.

Confirmations Settings

Step 5 Connect Your Form with ActiveCampaign Account For Email Marketing
After you have done with creating signup form, its time to connect your form with ActiveCampaign. Click on the ‘Marketing’ option and click the ‘ActiveCampaign’ as indicated below.
You have to click the ‘Add New Account’ button as indicated in the image below.
A form will open where you have to provide all your ActiveCampaign details.
To get all this information, you need to create an ActiveCampaign account. After signing up, it will take you to the ActiveCampaign dashboard. Here, you have to click the ‘Setting’ option given in the left-hand side menu option as indicated below.
There are various sub-menu options given under the ‘Settings’. You have to click the ‘Developer’ option to get the API URL and Key required to fill on the above-given form.
Copy these API URL and Key and paste in the form given in the WPForms window as given in the image below.
Once you have done with filling the above form, click the ‘ADD’ button to complete connection WPForms with ActiveCampaign for your website.
Step 6 Make ActiveCampaign Settings For Email Marketing
After you have done with connecting the ActiveCampaign account with WPForms on your website, a popup will start appear where you have to provide a connection name for the form. This will be helpful for you when you want to connect the form with the multiple email list. Click the ‘OK’ button after entering the connection name.
It opens the ActiveCampaign settings page where you can make various settings after connecting to the ActiveCampaign account. Here, you can select the ActiveCampaign account you have connected with your website.
You can also make settings like action to perform, ActiveCampaign list select, subscriber email, new subscriber email, subscriber status, and many more.
If you have done with all the ActiveCampaign settings, you can click on the ‘SAVE’ button to save your form and the settings you have made for it.
Step 7 Embed Signup Form Using Shortcode
After you have completed creating WPForms and connecting with the ActiveCampaign account with proper settings, you can embed the form to your posts and pages using shortcode.
To embed the form, click the ‘EMBED’ button given at the top-right corner of the screen as indicated in the image below.
